Optical Nonlinearities of Quantum Confined Metal and Semiconductor Crystallites in Glasses

Abstract

We summarize the main features of the cubic nonlinearities of the quantum confined semiconductor and metal crystallites in glasses and assess the impact of quantum and dielectric confinement there.
