Thin Gradient Heat Fluxmeters Developed at ONERA
Chapter
Summary
To meet the experimental needs of aircraft engine manufacturers, ONERA has undertaken research and development of thin gradient heat fluxmeters for measuring steady or quasi-steady fluxes. Two types of transducers are presented, the first one is a simple gradient fluxmeter usable up to 230°C, sticked on aerodynamical profiles, the second one is a multijunction gradient fluxmeter usable up to 1000°C, directly deposited on profiles or turbine blades. The principle, the design and the main characteristics of the sensors are described, as well as the techniques used for their calibration.
