Abstract

The calcium phosphates CPs (hydroxyapatite, HA, Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2; α and β-tricalciumphosphate, TCP, α and β-Ca3(PO4)2; octacalciumphosphate, OCP, Ca8(HPO4)(PO4)4.5H2O; dicalciumphosphate, DCP, CaHPO4, anhydrous and dihydrate; amorphous calcium phosphate, ACP, Ca3(PO4)2.xH2O; etc.) constitute the main components of hard tissues.
