Abstract

Human civilization is at a turning point of history—the mankind must find a way out of the global crisis into the sustainable future. In the changing world the role of science will be rapidly growing, and the organization of scientific community will suffer changes in order to take up challenges of our time. As a result, some new tendencies are developing in science policy giving priorities to more goal-oriented, multidisciplinary international projects and programmes. In this context a possible role of the network of the International Research Centres in Siberia is discussed.
