Abstract

Various effects of prostaglandins (PGs) on macrophages and immunocompetent cells have been reported by different investigators. The present work has been undertaken to test functional activities of PGE1treated rat peritoneal macrophages. Peritoneal macrophages were collected from normal Sprague-Dawley albino rats. Adherent cells were cultured for 24 h at 37 °C in a humidified 5% CO2 atmosphere. Cell viability was assayed by trypan blue dye exclusion test and by checking levels of lactic dehydrogenase.
