Abstract
The importance of natural ventilation losses is becoming recognised as the area of greatest ignorance when arriving at a thermal balance in buildings. These losses are of increasing importance when other aspects of heat loss are attended to by, for example, increased insulation. Studies are being carried out by TNO, Holland, showing the difficulty of making these measurements and the variability of natural ventilation losses in practice. This work will lead to a calculation model based upon field and wind tunnel tests.
