Summary

A small size room model using a Trombe wall system has been designed to make a qualitative as well as quantitative approach of convection and heat transfer aspects. The air flow is supposed to be under steady state and laminar conditions. From the following experimental measurements obtained in the model (i.e).
  • velocity profiles mesured by Doppler laser Anemometer

  • temperature distributions.

Different results were deduced, such as:
  1. 1)

air flow motion inside the room

  2. 2)

influence of each wall on the thermal balance

  3. 3)

convective heat transfer inside the system.

Coupling between the room and the Trombe wall structure is therefore caracterized. Taking these results into account, we developped a modelisation based on a network model and implemented it on a microcomputer.
