Summary

Process design parameters and environmental conditions are of main importance during digestion of mixed wastes, but full scale optimisation is tedious and expensive.

The aim of this work is to try to simulate different experimental conditions (farm wastes to sludge ratio, different C: N: P, pre-aeration time, etc.) in small labscale units in order to collect rapidly and simply a lot of informations and to evaluate to which extent such simulations can be used for prediction of plan design and performance.
