Abstract

The characterisation of coal for gasification processes has several functions and these are given below:
  1. 1.

To provide data for the calculation of heat and mass balances and efficiency,

  2. 2.

To predict coal behaviour during gasification,

  3. 3.

To obtain optimum conditions for gasification,

  4. 4.

To provide specifications for the purchase of coal feedstocks.
