General Conclusions — Dietary Considerations Relative to Future Toxicology
Chapter
Abstract
Disorders in five areas of metabolism that afflict a substantial proportion of the population, and that can be reproduced in laboratory animals, have been chosen for detailed consideration and analysis. The purpose of this analysis has been to determine whether, by manipulation of laboratory animal diets, a greater rate of progress can be achieved not only in the development of drugs, but also in a successful and predictable application of new drugs and therapeutic diets in clinical practice.
