Abstract

The present paper is concerned with some transient phenomena of induction machines with low damping. The increasing tendency of using a stiff coupling between the motor shaft and the driven assembly demands an attentive vibrational conception of driving systems. Therefore computer programs are used, considering as well the mechanical as the electrical part of the driving system. To get an overview of the maximum loads, one has to try to simulate the worst case. This maximum load occurs during transients. Therefore in this paper two transients of a squirrel cage induction motor are presented.
