Abstract

In this section and the next we shall try to defend Kant’s remarkable conclusion that all substances are absolutely permanent. We shall see that given three principles (what we shall call the L, T, and E principles) Kant’s conclusion follows, and that the T and E principles are simply expressions of an absolutist as opposed to relativistic topology. Therefore given Kant’s theory of space, time, and thought, and given that the topology of spatio-temporizing is absolutist, the remarkable conclusion of the First Analogy follows.1
