A Design Study of a Composite Leaf Spring

Abstract

The design method of a composite leaf spring is presented in this paper. The composite leaf spring manufactured has excellent static and fatigue behavior. The life prediction for specimens subjected to three-point bending fatigue and proof-test which will guarantee a minimum life for a specimen are also discussed. The evaluation methods of impact damage we proposed, especially the single-specimen test, have prospects for engineering applications.
