Abstract

The effect of a magnetic field on the flow regime provides a means of control of mixing in liquid metal flows. The paper presents results of the following experimental investigations: laminarization of pipe and jet flows by a coaxial magnetic field: decay of a homogeneous MHD turbulence with the near-isotropic initial state; transverse magnetic field effect on Rayleigh-Taylor instability in thin films.
