Significance of pericardial effusion in acute myocardial infarction

Abstract
Classically, pericardial effusion during myocardial infarction had been considered rare (1–3). Echocardiography provides an excellent method to establish the prevalence of pericardial effusion (4) in the evolution of myocardial infarction.
