Laser Model with Periodic External Injected Signal and Noise: Small Net Gain Limit

Abstract

A model for a laser with periodically modulated injected signal in the limit of gain approximately equal to the losses, is presented. By means of the normal form theory we caracterize its dynamical behaviors arround of a Hopf bifurcation point, taking into account fluctuations in intensity and frequency of the injection also. We determinate the spectral contributions when the Hopf frequency is or it is not coincident with the modulation frequency of the injected signal.
