Abstract

[1] After this I looked, and behold, a door was open in heaven. [2] And the first voice which I heard was, as it were, of a trumpet talking with me which said: [3] ‘Come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be fulfilled hereafter’. [4] And immediately I was in the spirit, [5] and behold, a seat was set in heaven, and one sat on the seat. [6] And he that sat was to look upon like unto a jasper stone and a sardine stone. [7] And there was a rainbow about the seat in sight like a smaragde. [8] And about the seat were twenty-four seats, [9] and upon the seats twenty-four elders sitting, [10] clothed in white raiment, [11] and had on their heads crowns of gold. [12] And out of the seat proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices. [13] And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the seat, which are the seven spirits of God. [14] And before the seat there was a sea of glass like unto crystal. [15] And in the midst of the seat and round about the seat were four beasts [16] full of eyes before and behind.
