A World-Class Education for Mauritius in the Twenty-First Century
This article has been inspired by the statements made by Professor Phillip Hughes, Head of the Centre of education at the University of Tasmania in a UNESCO Study entitled “Futures and Education” (1983). This document has been seminal as I used many ideas from it in my doctoral study under his supervision. This international study has been used extensively by me as Director of Education in Mauritius and as Education Specialist at the World Bank and the International Financial Corporation in Washington DC and as Parliamentarian in the National Assembly of Mauritius.
