Abstract

The three chapters in this part represent the diverse experiences of minorities in higher education. Each chapter highlights the challenges of the everyday work and school life of teachers who educate international students in Australia, African immigrant students in the United States, and undocumented Latino college students in the United States. The chapters focus on the methodological, theoretical, and practical implications of the research and population. Together, they create a broad and detailed understanding of how culture, class, community, and dominant discourses shape the experiences of minority students.
