Abstract
This chapter begins with the introduction to numerous wireless systems, followed by the motivation of working towards next generation wireless system at 60GHz that can provide data rates at several Gbps. State-of-the-art semiconductor technologies, design challenges and architectural solutions are discussed. The outline of the book is also presented.
