Abstract
For bringing about the necessary major improvements in clinical medicine, ultimately providing for universal practice of scientific medicine, the current teachings about ‘clinical epidemiology’ and EBM are counterproductive, as they are not founded on tenable principles from the theory of medicine; and the EBM movement that they underpin is, philosophically, wrong-headed in its denial of the role of academic leaders and expert practitioners in the development of the knowledge-base of clinical medicine. The academic leaders, in turn, now consolidate this decadence by their promotion of ‘clinical epidemiology’ and EBM.
