Een huisarts met een normpraktijk wordt ruim tweemaal per week geconsulteerd door een patiënt met knieklachten.1 Onder knieklachten wordt verstaan klachten met betrekking tot de knie die de patiënt als zodanig aangeeft: pijn, zwelling (dikke knie), slotverschijnselen en instabiliteit (door de knie zakken). Pijn is meestal de overheersende klacht.
