Riassunto
La violenza sessuale è un concetto multidimensionale con molte definizioni a seconda di quale gruppo professionale stia usando il termine o del contesto nel quale è utilizzato. Il comportamento sessualmente violento, l’omicidio su base sessuale o i reati sessuali seriali violenti contro donne e bambini corrispondono, ovviamente, alla definizione di violenza sessuale. “Qualunque comportamento sessuale contro un partner non consensuale” rappresenta una definizione più ampia di violenza sessuale e la più comunemente utilizzata. Questa definizione ampia di violenza sessuale è in grado di coprire la maggior parte dei comportamenti sessualmente devianti e la maggior parte dei comportamenti che comportano un reato a sfondo sessuale (Bradford, 2006); includerebbe la maggior parte delle parafilie “attive” o deviazioni sessuali (per esempio: sadismo sessuale, pedofilia) ed escluderebbe la maggior parte delle parafilie “passive” (per esempio: voyeurismo, feticismo, esibizionismo) (Bradford et al., 1992). In questo capitolo affronteremo il tema della violenza sessuale basandoci su quest’ampia definizione. Un termine più comunemente utilizzato dai professionisti della salute mentale e dai sessuologi per riferirsi all’ampia categoria delle violenze di natura sessuale è aggressione sessuale ed è ulteriormente divisa in aggressione sessuale contro le donne e contro i bambini, seguendo la comune classificazione di autori di reato e crimini a sfondo sessuale.
