Incentivos para la innovación: Enfermedades desatendidas

Resumen
Los incentivos para estimular una mayor innovación en la industria farmacéutica se aplican en la mayoría de los países de la OCDE, pero son más necesarios que nunca cuando se trata de las llamadas «enfermedades desatendidas» (ED). Se trata de enfermedades como la malaria, la tuberculosis y las infecciones helmínticas, que afectan a centenares de millones de pacientes pobres en los países en desarrollo. Nos centraremos aquí en la forma de estimular la innovación de la industria respecto a esas enfermedades, y en cuándo serán necesarias vías alternativas para la innovación.
