Textured Bulk Sample of Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O
Abstract
A three-dimensionally textured structure with the c-axis nearly parallel each other was realized in the bulk sample with Bi2 . 2Sr1 . 8CaCu2Oy composition to which Ag was doped at 10 wt. %. If Ag was’nt doped or Ag-doped Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox composition was used, this textured structure couldn’t be obtained. DTA analyses suggest that the low-Tc phase is formed by the reaction between a liquid phase and Bi-free insulator phase in Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox composition, whereas in Bi2 . 2Sr1 . 8CaCu2Oy one the low-Tc phase crystallizes directly from a liquid phase. Both this direct crystallization and Ag-doping seem to play an important role on the formation of the textured structure.
