Zusammenfassung

Die extrazelluläre Matrix (EZM) der Dermis besteht aus kollagenen und elastischen Fasern sowie einer interfibrillären Grundsubstanz, welche sich aus verschiedenen Glykoproteinen, Wasser und Salz zusammensetzt. Hauptkomponente dieser Grundsubstanz sind die Proteoglykane (Muzin), die über ihren Proteinanteil mit einem langen fadenförmigen, zentralen Kern (Core-Protein) an Glykosaminoglykane gebunden sind. Die Proteoglykanmoleküle bestehen hauptsächlich aus Hyaluronsäure, Dermatansulfat, Chondroitin-4-Sulfat und Chondroitin-6-Sulfat. Durch hydrostatische Wechselwirkungen dieser Komponenten erhält die Dermis ihre Konsistenz. Bei Störung des Glykosaminoglykanstoffwechsels kann es zu quantitativen und/oder qualitativen Veränderungen der EZM kommen. Die Überproduktion von Glykosaminoglykanen kann zum Beispiel durch Schilddrüsenerkrankungen oder Störungen des Immunsystems ausgelöst werden, häufig wird aber keine Ursache gefunden.
