Zusammenfassung
Thoraxverletzungen sind für 25% aller traumatisch bedingten Todesfälle verantwortlich. Hiervon sind je nach Art der Gewalteinwirkung bis zu 95% auf kardiale Verletzungen zurückzuführen (Kulshrestha et al. 1990). Eine Herzbeteiligung kann sowohl bei penetrierenden als auch bei stumpfen Traumata auftreten.
