Abstract
In nonrelativistic quantum mechanics, the higher-order effects of a perturbation H per (2.206) may be calculated by means of a Green’s function G which is defined by the following inhomogeneous differential equation
$$
(H + H_{per} )\psi = (E^0 + E^1 + E^{(2)} \cdots )\psi $$
(B.1)
$$[E - H(r,p)]G(r,r',E) = \delta \left( {r - r'} \right).$$
