Abstract

A ganglion is a cyst formation in collagenous tissues such as tendon sheaths, tendons, joint capsule tissue, and menisci. In contrast to the bursa, which occurs in loose connective tissue, the ganglion develops in the interior of rigid fibrous tissue.
