Minimising the Error Budget in the Third Precise Levelling of Sweden
Abstract
The production work concerning the Third Precise Levelling of Sweden is almost completed. The next necessary step concerns further quality control of the levelling data before the final adjustment can be done. The production line, from planning to computation, has been developed to minimise the influence of systematic errors as well as minimising the risk of gross errors. This paper describes the whole process of the production to present how we are trying to minimise the error budget by proper planning, well developed measuring technique and different types of checks of data in the field as well as in the office. The paper also describes the work planned to prepare our data for the final adjustment so that the remaining systematic errors can be detected and controlled.
