Sex Steroids and the Cardiovascular System

Part of the book series: Schering Foundation Workshop ((SCHERING FOUND,volume 5))

Abstract

Sex steroids can influence the metabolism of coagulation and fibrinolysis variables and change their plasma concentration. These effects have been documented with various formulations of oral contraceptives (OCs) and variations in effect of different formulations have been observed (Task Force on Oral Contraceptives 1991).
