Interstitial cystitis

Abstract

“Interstitial cystitis” was the name applied to a symptom-complex in females as long ago as 1887 (148).The outstanding symptoms were “clock-like” frequency of urination and suprapubic and vaginal pain which was relieved temporarily by emptying the bladder.
