Media and accountability in Latin America: Framework, conditions, instruments

Abstract
This study set out to explore how to investigate media accountability profoundly beyond the Global North. In addition, it aimed at examining both the status quo of how the media are and can be held accountable, and the underlying conditions for the development of MA in Latin America. The relationship between media and accountability determines the development of media systems and the working environment for journalists as well as of specific media accountability instruments.
