Coaching in Projects

Abstract

Working in projects increasingly becomes a common everyday work practice. In the first part of this chapter psychological aspects of project work will be discussed. It will be argued that project coaching is a most suitable means to support learning and feedback processes. Further, structural aspects of project organization and processing will be described, as these form essential conditions for project success and thus also for project coaching processes. These coaching processes can be managed most efficiently by an external coach. The specific requirements a coach has to deal with will be described. The chapter will close with an analysis of motives, aims, framing conditions, and ways to progress in project coaching.
