Zusammenfassung

Lokalanästhetika unterscheiden sich von fast allen anderen Narkosemitteln dadurch, daß sie am Wirkungsort appliziert werden, so daß hohe Konzentrationen im Bereich der Nerven erreicht werden. Das Lokalanästhetikum wird jedoch resorbiert, und es können klinisch signifikante Plasmaspiegel entstehen. Da die therapeutische Breite der Lokalanästhetika gering ist, kann es relativ leicht zu unerwünschten Nebenwirkungen kommen (Tabelle 1).
