Thermodynamic Information from Ion-Molecule Equilibrium Constant Determinations
Chapter
Abstract
According to the principles of thermodynamics, the equilibrium constant of any chemical equilibrium gives information about the thermochemistry of the chemical reactions in the forward and reverse directions: Equation I has been applied extensively to the derivation of thermochemical information, particularly in the liquid phase.
$$ - RT\ln {K_{eq}} = \Delta {G^o} = \Delta {H^o} - T\Delta {S^o}$$
