Abstract
They are here, the Virtual Realities. Recently industrial applications come up to the market which are no longer a toy but a real tool. But what is about the ergonomic software interface to the human. A normal cybernaut is used to handle many gestures to interact with the new worlds. But to get familiar with complex virtual worlds like an office layout program a lot of time is needed for using the world firm and time-efficient. Similar to the well known two-dimensional GUI’s this paper will discuss a three-dimensional user interface to virtual worlds without using many different gestures. The paper will show by an example developed at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering how those mixed GUI’s (iconoriented and gesturedriven) will work and how the user can benefit from this version of userinterfaces.
