Zusammenfassung
Adipöse haben zwei- bis dreimal häufiger Gallensteine als Normalgewichtige. Vergleichende Untersuchungen der Arbeitsgruppen von Grundy bzw. von Shaffer und Small hatten ergeben, daß bei Übergewichtigen die Relation der Gallenlipide und Gallensäuren in Richtung einer „Übersättigung“mit Cholesterin verschoben ist und demnach der „lithogene Index“erhöht ist. Nach Gewichtsreduktion fällt der lithogene Index durch eine Verminderung der biliären Cholesterinsekretion (Bennion und Grundy, 1975).
