Abstract
Because the techniques employed in this section are ones generally unfamiliar to membrane biophysicists, although by no means unfamiliar to kinetic theorists, a perhaps disproportionate amount of basic kinetic theory is gathered together from a number of diverse sources as backgouund for the material of later chapters.
