Structural Similarity of Programs and Some Concepts of Algorithmic Method
Abstract
A concept of a programming language scheme (as a programming theory) and of its programming language (as its programming model) for a particular computer are introduced and in this way “machine dependency and independency of programming languages” are clarified. Certain elementary changes are described by which some structural similarities among the program schemes are defined. In each programming language a functional equivalency of programs is introduced by a requirement that by both programs the same function is computed. Briefly the definitions of flow-diagrams and algorithmic diagrams of a program are introduced. Three concepts of algorithmic method are discussed but always a class of functionally equivalent programs is in the base of them.
