Acyclovir (Zovirax) in Herpes Simplex Keratitis

Summary

Thirtysix patients with herpetic corneal disease were treated with Acyclovir (Zovirax). The patients were divided into four different clinical groups. The therapeutic effect and the side effects of the drug in each group are discussed. It is suggested that Acyclovir is an effective therapeutic agent in Herpes Simplex Keratitis.

Zusammenfassung

Sechsunddreißig Patienten mit Herpes corneae wurden mit Acyclovir (Zovirax) behandelt. Die Beurteilung und Therapie der Patienten erfolgte in vier verschiedenen klinischen Gruppen. Die Therapieergebnisse und Nebenwirkungen werden diskutiert. Wir sind der Ansicht, daß Acyclovir ein wirksames Therapeutikum bei Herpes simplex-Keratitis ist.
