Zusammenfassung
Die Mehrzahl der querschnittgelähmten Männer ist infertil durch Verlust der Ejakulationsfähigkeit. Eine spontane normale Ejakulation wird laut einer Literaturübersicht von 27–39% der inkomplett Gelähmten und von nur 0–7% der vollständig Querschnittgelähmten angegeben. Patienten mit Läsionen unterhalb Th 12 haben häufiger eine erhaltene Ejakulation als höhere Querschnittgelähmte (Higgins 1979). Nach erfolgreichem Abschluß der Rehabilitation ist dieses oft eine eingreifende Spätkomplikation der Querschnittlähmung (QSL).
