Abstract
The increasing incidence of birth-defects and deformations in animals panicked the residents in the affected areas of the Ukraine and Byelorussia. I recall the anguish I felt at the birth of an eight-legged foal, which we filmed in May 1989, near Narodichi in the Zhitomir province.
