Comparison of Bicycle Ergometer Test with other Noninvasive Tests in Dynamic Coronary Stenosis
Abstract
Variant angina is a clinical entity characterised by coronary artery spasm accompanied by a typical clinical pattern. These spasms occur either in intact vessels or in those affected by atherosclerotic stenosis. The clinical picture in its classic form is characterized by chest pain at rest, especially in the night, but in praxis they are observed during stress as well. During chest pain the ECG reveals mostly transmural ischemia i.e. ST elevation; ST depression or alteration in ST elevation and depression reflecting spasm intensity are less typical. The noninvasive diagnosis of variant angina pectoris is based on ascertaining these ST deviations after different provocative tests.
