Abstract

The practice of socioeconomic evaluation is limited by the state of knowledge about a particular area and the state of data availability. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the assessment of costs. While the process of identifying resources and assigning monetary costs may seem relatively straightforward, there are numerous problems that confront researchers during this process. The identification of costs and the problems that can arise are the subjects of this chapter.
