Two-Dimensional Spatial Light Modulators for High-Resolution TV Applications
Conference paper
Abstract
Typical requirements to be satisfied by high-resolution spatial light modulators are briefly outlined. Three possible concepts are discussed: visco-elastic, electro-optic, and liquid-crystal spatial light modulators. It is concluded that significant advances in materials science and technology are necessary for a success of high-resolution spatial light modulators in demanding applications such as high-definition television.
