Unter dem Aspekt der Information als Produktionsfaktor muß Informationswirtschaft eines Unternehmens gleichrangig mit Funktionen wie Entwicklung, Fertigung, Personal, und Vertrieb behandelt werden. Der Autor plädiert für eine weitgehende Dezentralisierung nach dem Divisionalisierungsprinzip, unter einer zentralen Lenkung der Informationswirtschaft durch einen Anlagenchef, der übergeordnete und koordinative Funktionen wahrnimmt. Die Zuordnung einer Aufgabe zur zentralen oder peripheren Stelle muß unter rein pretialen Gesichtspunkten entschieden werden. Eine aufgabenadäquate Reorganisation wird eine Abkehr von der traditionellen zentralen Datenverarbeitungs-Abteilung mit sich bringen.

Abstract

Regarding information as a production factor the author states that information management must be given the same priority as the functions of development, production, staffing and marketing within a companies’ management. However, an extensive decentralization according to the principles of divisionalization should be reached that comes under the direction of a central information management department responsible for the overall and coordinative functions and office technologies. The attachment of tasks to either unit must be decided under purely economic viewpoints. The task adequate reorganization will imply a turn away from the traditional central data processing department.
