Medicolegal Consequences of Deaths under Anaesthesia in the Netherlands
Chapter
Abstract
The legal consequences of a death under anaesthesia in the Netherlands are not much different from those in France since the civil and penal codes valid in the Netherlands stem from the same Napoleonic legal system. Therefore the procedure when a patient dies during or immediately after an operation under anaesthesia is almost identical.
