Zusammenfassung

Die Diskussion um die notwendige operative Radikalität beim papillären Schilddrüsenkarzinom mit seiner von der Art der Therapie scheinbar fast unabhängigen, relativ guten langfristigen Prognose hat sich in den letzten Jahren neu entzündet. Umstritten ist vor allem die Notwendigkeit der totalen Thyreoidektomie, vor allem bei Tumoren, die auf einen Schilddrüsenlappen begrenzt sind [1–3, 5, 7–10].
