Zusammenfassung
Historisch gesehen war die Sonographie die erste Methode, mit der es auf nichtinvasivem Wege gelang, eine Konsistenzbeurteilung von Raumforderungen durchzuführen. Diese Tatsache hat einerseits zu einer raschen Verbreitung der Methode wesentlich beigetragen, hat aber auch dazu geführt, daß die mittels der Konsistenzbeurteilung möglichen Aussagen häufig überschätzt wurden, während andere Befunde, die sich aus der exakten Wiedergabe der topographischen Anatomie des Körperinneren ergeben, unterschätzt wurden.
